Our story

Pergola Wellbeing Society began with a simple wish: that people far from home, and everyone around them in Winnipeg, would have somewhere to slow down, feel welcome and look after their mental wellbeing together.

Why “Pergola”

A pergola is a frame of posts and beams that something grows over. That is what we try to be: a simple structure of programmes, gatherings and a place to show up, for a community to grow on.

What we do

We bring people together through kindness, the arts, mindfulness and learning: letters from the heart, music nights, meditation and time in nature, English circles and talks, and celebrations like Lunar New Year.

Who we are

Pergola was started by Vietnamese Winnipeggers and is run by volunteers. Everyone is welcome.
